I just heard from the camera shop, and it will be $180 plus tax to repair my camera. A new camera would be about $450 and wouldn't be much of an improvement (6 megapixels instead of 5, but otherwise not terribly different), so it's a bit of a no-brainer.
I should have my camera back in 2-3 weeks. Of course, I haven't updated my photo site in months, so sadly that doesn't do you much good.

Dave... I am really sorry about your camera. Life is not fair at all! I was going to say you should buy a bike, but you already got one... so you could prob buy a new TV (new toy)!

Thanks Danny. Fortunately, I've gotten over it, and I'm just glad to have my camera back. It was my own stupid fault for not putting on the wrist strap. I don't think there are any new TV's in my future, unless someone wants to volunteer to buy me one. ;)
